Tumbling

Tumbling is an exciting discipline that incorporates balance, strength, flexibility, and coordination. The types of exercises may include lots of jumping, somersaults, handstands and flips. We have a great tumbling room equipped with a large trampoline, a tumbling floor and mats.

Our Certified Acrobatic Arts instructors teach tumbling skills with Olympic standards. SCC students excel quickly through positive encouragement, effective training, and self discipline, becoming “strong, happy, healthy kids”.

Level Descriptions

Pre-Tumbling

This class consists of learning the basics of balance, strength and flexibility. Class curriculum includes basic tumbling fundamentals such as rolls, jumps and “frog-stand.”

Beginning - Level 1

Students begin learning the elementary skills of tumbling and increasing balance, strength and flexibility. Class curriculum includes skills such as cartwheels, handstands, pike and bridge positions.

Level 2

This class extends from elementary to intermediate tumbling vocabulary and continues to build on students’ balance, strength and flexibility. Class curriculum includes skills such as dive rolls, backbend kickover and side leg holds.

Level 3

Students must have completed Tumbling levels 1 and 2 to sign up for this class. The curriculum includes intermediate tumbling skills such as round-offs, walk-overs and preparation for aerials.

Level 4-5

This class is designed for students with strong fundamentals who have had at least 3 years of training. Class curriculum includes skills such as one handed walkovers, standing back handsprings, "scorpions" and front/side aerials.
