FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA – October 17, 2025

South Coast Conservatory (SCC) proudly announces the overwhelming success of its annual Dance-a-Thon, which raised over $51,000 for student scholarships, ensuring that financial need does not stand in the way of a child's artistic education.

A Community Effort with Distinguished Guests

The event saw spirited participation from 163 dancers who collectively raised just over $25,000. The Conservatory's leadership, committed to its mission of accessibility, provided a generous match, pushing the total scholarship fund to more than $51,000. This monumental effort will directly benefit 33 families in need, providing their children with life-changing opportunities in dance, music, and theater arts.

The success of the Dance-a-Thon is a testament to the dedication of the entire SCC community.

“We are absolutely blown away by the generosity and passion of our participants,” said Jena Minnick-Bull, Executive Director. “This event embodies the spirit of our Conservatory—not just artistic excellence, but deep commitment to community and inclusion. Every dollar raised translates into a child taking their first bow, writing their first song, or feeling the confidence that comes from creative expression.”

The event was also honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including California State Assemblymember Laurie Davies and Laguna Niguel City Councilmember Stephanie Oddo, whose attendance underscored the importance of arts education in the community.

Gratitude for the SCC Family & Ongoing Philanthropy

South Coast Conservatory extends its deepest gratitude to the volunteers who dedicated countless hours to planning and running the event, the talented teachers who inspire students daily, and the passionate students who danced their hearts out for a meaningful cause. Their collective energy and commitment made this year's Dance-a-Thon the most impactful to date.

In addition to supporting its local community, SCC is proud to announce its continued commitment to broader philanthropic efforts, including an annual donation to Dancers Against Cancer.
